New World: New Cities Created by the Haitian Revolution

Explore the logic of urban thinking stemming from the Haitian Revolution by examining the creation of inland cities such as Marchand Dessalines, Milot, and Pétion-Ville. These new cities, nestled at the foot of the mountains, were located far from the sea. They were defended by farmers and specially designed fortifications. They thus protected their inhabitants against military incursions, cyclones, and earthquakes.
